Ensemble Arion, baroque orchestra

Sunday, November 11th, 2018 | 3 p.m.
St. Andrew’s Church

Mozart and Haydn, the champagne of music!

An incursion into the 18th century European salons at a time when conviviality was often experienced through musical sharing. The flute then enjoyed great popularity, also among Haydn’s aristocratic friends for whom he composed the bright London trios. And it was to the globe-trotter and amateur flautist Ferdinand Dejean that Mozart destined several irresistible quartets with flute. After all, you sip champagne in a flute!

Four members of the renowned ensemble Arion Baroque Orchestra will revive these effervescent works by Haydn and Mozart, on instruments such as these composers knew in their time.

The show was especially designed as part of the Promotions du Grand Châteauguay’s 10th anniversary!

Laura Andriani, violin
Jacques Houle, viola
Amanda Keesmaat, cello
Claude Guimond, flute
