Irina Chkourindina Pianist

Moscow-Hollywood one way Rachmaninov the exiled

This tribute concert to one of the greatest pianists and composers of the 20th century, Sergueï Rachmaninov. Two artists from Europe, Russian-Swiss pianist Irina Chkourindina and Swiss actor Pierre-Maxime Mahé will bring back to life the Russian genius who left his native land after the October 1917 revolution to immigrate to the United States. We will follow, in music and in words, this eternal exile, from his youth in Russia to the twilight of is life in California, entirely devoted to music. A great moment of musical and theatrical emotion!

 

Tribute to Joe Dassin

The show “Je me souviens” includes seven musicians and choristers of great talent who, by their passion, proudly offer us a class performance. It definitely pays tribute to the great French singer that we all cherish, Joe Dassin, who is marvellously interpreted by Benoit Labonté.

 

Saguenay Quartet (Alcan)

Violinists Laura Adriani and Nathalie Camus, violist Luc Beauchemin and cellist David Ellis make up the Saguenay Quartet (Alcan). They have a reputation for excellence in Canada and abroad. Their originality, their enthusiasm, their unique sonority, and their remarkable cohesion have helped them build quite the reputation, on stage and on record. The four musicians also occupy the first chairs of their respective ensembles in the Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

A panorama of sacred music from the New France era with a program of choir and organ pieces from the archives of the National Library, the Hôtel-Dieu, the Ursulines monastery of Quebec and the Abenaki mission of Saint-Francis. The first French music in America.

Marie-Josée Lord and the Chœur La Bohème of Châteauguay sing Christmas

For this Christmas concert, Les Promotions du Grand Châteauguay welcome the magnificient soprano Marie-Josée Lord and the Châteauguay choir, the Choeur La Bohème, under the musical direction of Mr. Sylvain Cooke.

Inspired by her love of gospel and traditional songs of the nativity, the incredible soprano along with the choir will sing some well-known spiritual songs that are sure to put you in the Christmas spirit.
A portion of the profits will be donated to the Choeur La Bohème.

With their fine musical writing which earned them a Juno and an Opus 2015, Quartango invites you to a brilliant overview of those crazy years of music and joie de vivre.

CITY LIGHT/1931 “City Lights” by Charlie Chaplin

You will be transported back to the 1920s, a time when silent films were presented. The screening of the movie and the sound effects will be accompanied by a pianist with a modern twist. The idea is to recreate a screening session of that time. A show that everyone will enjoy, young and old. That’s great Chaplin!

 

Longueil Symphonic Orchestra

You are invited to a colorful concert,
“The Four Seasons by Vivaldi” by Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741), one of the greats from the baroque era.

His work, filled with contrasts and energy, combines painting, poetry and music. In this concert, you will also experience the most beautiful music from films such as “Life Is Beautiful”, “The Mission”, “Once Upon A Time In The West”… The musicians of the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil and the conductor Véronique Lussier are delighted to share with you this creation that has become timeless. A concert full of wonder!

Energy, virtuosity and humor make Montréal Guitare Trio an amazing group of guitarists! Their eclectic and energetic music will take you through a journey of several influences. The trio travels the wolrd leaving their audiences wanting more every time! Their new show “Danzas” is one of the fieriest yet. “Danzas”, their 7th album, pays tribute to the greatcomposers of Spanish music such as Paco de Lucia and Manuel de Falla, as well as much of the repertoire they play throughout North America, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. Musically brilliant!

Show based on improvisation and musical creation

In this 90-minute show, François Dompierre will answer all questions to the best of his abilities. In a humorous, anecdotal and relaxed manner, the musician will speak about the world of composition. Many kinds of music will be played: from classical music to popular songs, music for picture, jazz, and world music. At the same time, Mr. Dompierre will play the piano and invite the audience to improvise with hime on stage.
